We bring back photos from our travels
Published: 18.08.2020
From a journey, you want to bring back impressions and a lot of photographs. We will tell you how to take photos while traveling so that emotions overflow.
Traveling is a tool that helps shake up the mind, rid it of prejudices, and show how beautiful the world is. However, the advice of great travelers often contradicts intuition. Therefore, develop your own philosophy of travel. And take our advice as a source of inspiration and awaken positive thoughts within yourself.
Leave doubts at home
The reason why people love to travel is because they want to take unique photos in new and exotic places. And, of course, to experience fresh emotions. Money spent on experiences is a much better investment than buying things. The experience will forever remain in your memory, mind, and heart. Believe me, in a few years, you will start to value travel and experiences much more than a new BMW or the latest model of iPhone.
A trip doesn't necessarily have to be long - it can be a half-hour drive outside of your hometown on weekends. Also, it's better to take many short trips throughout the year than one long and distant trip.
And if you can't travel, head to any neighborhood in the city and try to find more mysteries and new perspectives there. Don't think of the area as boring and mundane. Creative constraints will force you to seek beauty in ordinary things. Add a few cool features, for example, monochromeor shooting withsepia effect, and receive wow-photos.
Toward freedom
There is no "right" or "wrong" way to travel. There is no one rule for taking pictures. Everyone chooses with their heart. When you go to a place that you have heard about from acquaintances, you will have preconceived ideas about it. Therefore, in the first few days, take pictures of everything that interests you and analyze what common themes emerge in the photos.
Do not limit your photos to mundane moments. Take pictures that seem ordinary and familiar - often they become the best photographs.
Of course, be sure to visit the famous landmarks and take photos there. But in this case, either read our article on how to take photos.Sights/Attractions/Monuments, or simply take a couple of photos against the backdrop of cultural and natural landmarks.
Or even better - point the camera in the opposite direction. While everyone is shooting the same thing, find truly amazing things to shoot where no one is looking. Even better, go where tourists don't go.
The pictures may not be very spectacular, but the scenes themselves will be much more interesting. Also, if you are visiting tourist attractions and landmarks, don't forget to take photos along the way: of the people you meet, the surroundings, or a roadside restaurant.
When printing photos directly onto the pages of the Light album, right in the freeEditor Mapi7Add comments under each photo. This is an important photography tip.
In the comments under the photos in the album Light or on social networks, write about the circumstances in which the photo was taken. Or about the life of the person you are photographing.
Comments will add an additional emotional touch to the story of the photograph. Provide the viewer with the context they need to understand the photos. You don't often see this advice in the list of recommendations on how to take photos while traveling.
There are many candid tourist portraits taken from afar with a telephoto lens. They are interesting, but they always lack the essence and soul of the person being photographed. Approach the subject and ask to take a photo. The resulting portrait will be ten times better than if you had taken it without permission and from a distance. And by the way, most people don't mind.
An easy way to start a conversation is to buy something from a street vendor.
Create a Light album from cool photos. You don't need to print the photos separately for this. We will print your photos directly on the pages of the Light album. Upload images to the free Mapi7 editor and create a themed Light album. You can upload photos from your phone.

The whole world photographs beauty. Magnificent sunsets and beaches, perfect jungles or unusual architecture. It seems that no one wants to photograph boring and ordinary things, but they are part of this world.
There is nothing wrong with photographing things that we do not consider beautiful. If done correctly, the photograph will stand out. Don't limit yourself to capturing only breathtaking beauty.
Be prepared for the unexpected
Often the best photos are taken when least expected. Stay alert and carry your camera everywhere. This doesn't mean you have to constantly hold it in your hands. Enjoy the journey without constantly looking through the viewfinder. But having a camera or smartphone at hand will give you the opportunity to take a picture at any moment.
Take the light as your allies
Good photos can be taken in any lighting conditions. Cloudy weather or fog can sometimes add atmosphere. You just need to improvise and adapt. If you are not yet ready to experiment, remember: evening or morning light is much better suited for documentary travel photography.
Images on smartphones and laptops don't last long. Print your photos. We offer classic chemical photo printing with a wide color range and smooth tonal transitions. The images look visually warmer and more vibrant.
Make sure you are focused when your favorite light is nearby. This can become a part of your style, and the more you shoot in certain lighting, the better you will understand how to use light to create great photos.
When you are enjoying a romantic sunset with your loved one, stop and think, do you really need to take a photo of it? Put the camera aside, breathe in the air, embrace each other. Don't become someone who takes thousands of photos of fireworks without actually seeing the display.
Travel with those you love and care about. Don't worry about seeing everything during the trip or hike. Spend more time in fewer places. Travel at a comfortable and unhurried pace and enjoy every stage of the journey.
